Mindset can be a tricky concept to grasp. Many people hear or see the word, but when it comes to applying the concept in everyday life, it can become challenge. In a lot of cases I have found that people in general know what they need to do, but for whatever reason, they just don’t do it. For example, have you ever made a decision to get back in shape? I used example, because it’s most common. To be honest, we in general we know that by changing our diet, exercises, drinking more water, cutting down on the sugars and sweets would be a great place to start. However, even though we know this, we simply just don’t do it. Now why don’t we do it?
In my opinion, we have become comfortable with being the CEO of our decisions and as the CEO, we can decide and have the final say in whether you are going to do something or not. I have found that the decision could be wrapped up in emotional highs and lows. We have them all the time in life. It’s called the emotional roller coaster. The goal for this article is to prepare you for future business if you decide to start one. When you can consciously control your emotions and focus on using logic and factually realities, you can get more accomplished. For example, if you were to start a MLM home based business, a non MLM home based business or a traditional business the law of large numbers will come into play. Case and point, is it a fact people will join your business or buy your product? Yes. Is it a fact people will not join your business or not buy your product? Yes. Is it a fact people will tell you they are going to do something and not do it? Yes. Is it a fact people will tell you they are going to do something and do it? Yes. My question is if everything is a fact when it happens to you positively or negatively why do you get emotional? Pause for a second right here and really absorb this, because if you can get this under your belt, you are well on your way to developing the mindset of an entrepreneur.
There is a process that everyone goes through when starting anything new and hopefully after reading this article you will have a better understanding of how to approach self-development and learning. Over the years, I have seen it all and learned to keep explanations as simple as possible. The goal is to get from 1 to 4 in the diagram. However, to be highly confident and highly competent, it is going to take time and you will have to develop. I have seen a new person get started in a business extremely excited, but has never owned or ran a business before. That person has high confidence, but low competence. Be careful, because this could end up leading the business right into bankruptcy. I have seen low confidence and highly competence as well. This person has studied and knows a lot of information, but maybe nervous and not willing to share their business. Lastly, the individuals that have low confidence and low competence have a tremendous uphill battle. I am not saying it’s impossible, but being in business is not for the faint of heart. Why am I sharing this? In my experience, your mindset is one of the most valuable resources you will ever invest in and regardless of the type of business you decide to start it is going to need constant attention. The ones that are willing to get it the attention it needs will be the ones to whether the emotional roller coasters when they come.
